Warlocks

I am really excited about this project Ive got my 2 locks with singing spears filed down and reposed/pinned just waiting a few hours so I know theyre set before I greenstuff the gaps and make sure theyre really solid. Something has been calling me to use warlocks again and I am so pumped! These guys are looking fantastic cant wait to start painting them. I've also won an auction on ebay and have another lock coming my way.

Updates on side projects.

Pictured above is my slightly converted Avatars of War light Elf mage. I think shes a really pretty model but somewhat a bitch to assemble! I swear neither head was going to fit and the number of gaps that needed filling afterwards was the most I've done on any model. I decided for additional effect to cut the hair off the second head supplied and give the one I used a pony tail which I think looks pretty good.

I got my box of Mantic Spear Elves on Thursday last week and I have to say I really like them IMO they look so much better than the GW Elves I'll be definitely getting another box. Still waiting for the Palace Guard to go in plastic for my Swordmasters.

I had stumbled upon some greens of Mantic making Elven bowmen w/o armour and shields so what I'm thinking of doing is buying a box of these when they become available (if) and also in the mean time buying another box of 20 spear-men and 20 of their currently Elven bowmen with shields. Assembling the unit of spear-men and then using spare bits turn the shield bearing bowmen into Lothern Sea Guard by adding the few spare bows and spears I'll have from the spear men box. The plan is the front row with the exception of the command squad will be armed with spears with two spare bows that have been filed down draped over their backs. The second onwards I'll have some spears thrust into the ground next to the Elf on their base so it looks like when the enemy come within melee range that the bowmen can abandon their bows and the spears are easily accessible. I think it'll look really good. The fluff for the mantic elves says they also drive their shields into the ground before them for additional protection when firing their bows so I'll try and add that to the front row I think.

Onto a new project I've started I've decided to fix up my Eldar Warlocks; they were painted so badly that theyre currently in the brake fluid. Using the new files I bought I was able to remove the 2 singing spears replacing one with a spare Eldrads witchblade and the second has my old Farseers (large) witchblade. Added a few more little conversions with shuriken pistols here and there so hopefully tomorrow morning when I wake up and finish removing the paint I can assemble them back up again and have some unique looking warlocks. I need to remember to buy more superglue too. I hate metal minis.

Updates on my Prisms.

So I've spent all week repainting my prisms, I've nearly finished one and the other is still in early stages.

Here's some pictures next to my Falcon.

I can't decide on whether black thorns or grey... I do love the greens though I think they're beautiful.

And here's the rest that still is in early stages.

Dragons are finished!

All 12 Dragons are finally finished, well minor details like reflective eye lenses but theyre all good enough for the table now.

Now to repaint two prisms. Oh this marks my 1750 list completed too, woo!

Well guess it's not entirely true I do need to paint some of the guns on the Serpents but its good enough for the time being!

The End Of The Phoenix Lord Project.

It started with acquiring Jain Zar second hand from a friend though she was missing her right hand I made do. Sadly for one of my favourite PLs she's the worst painted I think her base over-shadows her.

After Jain came Fuegan and Karandras. I painted Fuegan first and wanted to make him different to the rest of my dragons, more dark the lightest shade he's painted in (with the exception of the sunburst yellow on his fire pike) is blazing orange whereas my dragons go up to golden yellow. I tried doing glowing effects from his eyes but I dont think it turned out very well I think a few more highlights are required.

Next up was Karandras whom at the time I was really disappointed with, his head seems too glossy from the dark green ink I used but I have to say he is growing on me rapidly.

Following the Shadow Hunter and the Burning Lance came Asurmen who is the most ambitious of all the Phoenix Lords I've painted having to construct a pennant out of a coke can, I'm pretty happy how he turned out though a matt vanish accident required me to repaint the bottom half of his flag and it's a bit sloppy compared to the original paint job.

Following Asurmen came Maugan Ra, the first Phoenix Lord I painted that I am really happy with this guy was great fun to paint and he's the first time I've experimented with purples.

Lastly there is Baharroth, it took me weeks to get motivated to paint him and once I figured out a colour scheme and got under way I enjoyed it and I think he's turned out really nice also just wish I could've come up with something more interesting for his base but oh well.

Heres the Phoenix Court of the Young King, I'll have to get a better picture of this for sure.

Generic Elves Project: Part 1 Ideas

So for months I've been contemplating jumping in the deep end and starting a fantasy army, writing up army lists and having a couple of proxy battles to see what I like. Recently another friend had been talking about playing Lord of the Rings which got me thinking about making a generic army for WHFB, LotR and Mantics new/upcoming game Kings of War. So thinking along these lines I've decided to free myself of the shackles of Games Workshop and make a generic Elven army using various ranges from different companies to make something unique. So here's the ideas I've got at the moment, I'll start with Fantasy and models I'm thinking of to fill a HE army and then go onto an Elven Kingdoms LotR army and finish up with Kings of War.

Noble/Prince/Special Character: Various Reaper minis.

Mage: Various Reaper minis.

Archers: Mantic Elven Bowmen

Spear men: Mantic Elven Spearmen

Sea-Guard: Possibly Galadhrim Warriors from GWs LotR range.

Sword Masters: Mantic Palace Guard

Phoenix Guard: Gamezone Dark Elf Lancers

White Lions: ???

Silver Helms/Dragon Princes/ Ellyrian Reavers: GW Dragon Princes

Shadow Warriors: Various Reaper Minis, Lothlórien Elf Bowmen (GW LotR)

Lion/Tironic Chariots: GWs HE chariots.

Repeater Bolt Thrower: Gamezone Bolt Thrower or GW HE RBT

Great Eagle: GW Great Eagle

Dragons: GW HE Dragon (can't beat plastic!)

Lord of the Rings

Characters: Various Reaper Minis

Galadhrim/High Elf Archer Regiments: Mantic Elven Bowmen

Galadhrim/High Elf Regiment: Gamezone Dark Elf Lancers? Galadhrim Warriors

Wood Elf Warband/Mirk Wood Sentinels: Various Reaper Minis, Lothlórien Elf Bowmen (GW LotR)

Galadhrim Knights: Dragon princes

High Elf Cohort/Riven Guard: Mantic Spear Elves

Kings of War:

As half my models will be KoW products I imagine it'll be simple transition :)

Painting progress 15-10-2010

Not much has been going on painting wise lately I have however been churning out Striking Scorpions at a really fast rate (for me) this last week, so much so its aggravated my RSI so I'm going to have to slow down =\ I have another SS that isnt pictured as he's second generation paint job on him whilst the rest of these are third generation but he'll be good enough to blend in I suppose bringing the squad up to 8 if I include the Exarch. Must press on only 2 more. Then I'll have to finish those 2 damn dragons at some stage.

Battle Report Vs Space Wolves 1500pts

Wade came over today for a game and wanted to try out the Space Wolves he had bought off me a while ago and I had been dying to have a game using my footslogging list again for fun.

His list was along the lines of:
Logan
10 Wolf Guard in terminator armour (one leaves to join a Grey Hunter squad)
10 Grey Hunters (2 meltas and power weapon)
10 Grey Hunters (2 flamers and power weapon)
10 Grey Hunters (2 flamers and power weapon)
15 Fenrisian Wolves
6 Long Fangs (5 heavy bolters)
6 Long Fangs (2 missile launchers 3 heavy bolters)

My list:
Avatar
10 Fire Dragons
10 Howling Banshees
10 Striking Scorpions
10 Dire Avengers
10 Dire Avengers
6 Swooping Hawks
6 Warp Spiders
5 Shining Spears (inc Exarch)
5 Dark Reapers

We were playing a fan made mission the fluff they gave it goes "Recon has reported that the wreckage of an experimental alien fighter has fallen in the area. It is your job to investigate the crash site and recover any alien technology available while holding off the enemy force."

We alternated in placing 6 objectives (white primed slot bases in the photos) marked 1-6 underneath them, 1-2 being real objectives, 3-4 are duds and 5 and 6 are booby traps that cause D6 wounds.

The primary mission is whoever controls the most objectives.
Secondary objective "Break through the lines" requiring you to have at least one squad or tank within 6" of the other players board edge.
Tertiary objective was to reclaim the most objectives into your starting zone.

Deployment was your regular pitched battle on 6' x 4' board.

I won first turn deploying objectives and going first, I set up in a bit of a denied flank formation keeping everyone close to the Avatar whilst the Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders were in reserve.
My first turn the whole force really just moved up my Dire Avengers on my right uncovered a real objective whilst the ones on my left uncovered a booby trap and lost 3 to it. You can just see the base of one of the Shining Spears, who turbo boosted down my left side (right in the photo.

The Dark Reapers make their presence felt by killing 5 members of a long fang squad leaving just a single missile launcher, showing those marines that 4+ cover saves are not all they're cracked up to be.

The Grey Hunters launch themselves into battle rushing towards the Eldar lines at the double. Logan and his Wolf Guard unleashing torrents of fire into the Avatar taking 2 wounds off him before the Fenrisian Wolves charge. Long fangs shooting masses into the Dark Reapers who lose 2 of their number.

Sharp fangs bite at the Avatars throat and razor claws shred his hamstrings, will the Avatar survive?

A re-roll from a cocked dice decides the Avatars fate forcing the wolves to flee in terror before being hacked down and broken, removed from the table. The War God continues striding towards Logan and his boys with one wound remaining.

Swooping Hawks dive bomb from the sky dropping their bombs onto a squad of Grey Hunters who prove to be too tough and too well armoured and take no wounds. The hawks are then caught in a strong breeze blowing them out of lasblaster range. The Warp Spiders also materialize scattering back behind the building instead of ontop of an objective (note the objective in the tower isnt really there it was just where I placed the dud counter along with the turn dice).

The Eldar forces move forwards. Dire Avengers and Shining Spears fill the air with shurikens onto the right hand Grey Hunter squad who manage to pass tonnes of saves. The other Dire Avenger squad let loose into the Wolf Guard but don't manage to kill anything. The Reapers turn their attentions to the second Long Fang squad who even though opt to go to ground still take heavy losses.

The Avatars Wailing Doom meltas a Wolf Guard where he stands before the Avatar charges into combat killing... 1. Logan shows the Avatar what for and puts him down.

The Marines move forward, the Grey Hunters on the left moving over the fence to start looking for the experimental technology, the squad on the right moves forward and engages the Striking Scorpions.
Logan and his boys shoot into the Howling Banshees who go to ground to improve their save but to no avail and they lose 8 of their number.

Logan and the Wolf Guard then multi-assault the Dire Avengers and Howling Banshees killing them all brutally and claiming the alien technology for themselves. The Striking Scorpions however win their combat and the Space Wolves hold.

Eldar turn 3 sees the Warp Spiders teleport up the field to investigate some potential technology finding it to be a ruined dud. The Swooping Hawks and Dire Avengers relocate to gain lanes of fire onto the wolf guard. Fire Dragons move in behind to threaten should the Wolves come closer whilst the Dark Reapers continue to finish the job on the second long fang squad leaving a single heavy bolter.
Shining Spears zip into position and massacre the marines the Scorpions were locked in combat with.

Scorpions move into position to screen the Shining Spears.

Logan and his squad continue their murderous rampage through the Eldar lines and head towards the Striking Scorpions and Dire Avengers (whom I thought were out of range but ended up just in, somehow?). The squad of Grey Hunters in the farmyard find the Xeno tech but it turns out to be a dud (somewhere in a previous turn they had investigated another and it was a dud so now it was clear where the 2 real counters lay, one now with Logan the other was left unturned in midfield). The Grey hunters in midfield along with some long fang fire shoots at the Scorpions (a shining spear died to something possibly a long fang?).

The Dire Avengers take a few casualties and escape out of combat with the terminators falling back and then falling back again at the start of my turn 4.

So now surely between 5 Dire Avengers 6 Swooping Hawks (who moved closer incase the Wolf Guard die so they are in range to shoot the Grey Hunters in midfield) 10 Fire Dragons and then followed up from a charge from shining spears should be enough to take out a wounded Logan Grimnar and 4 Wolf Guard, right?

Well not if they're my Fire Dragons! As usual 6-7 of them miss... really getting tired of this. At least the Reapers and Warp Spiders do a number on the squad of Grey Hunters in the midfield. The Warp Spiders jump back in the assault phase fearing the Power Weapon but only manage to get 5", they'll be charged next turn.

The Shining Spears manage to kill 2 Wolf Guard and put a wound on Logan (Wade made 4 out of 6 Invulnerable saves on the WG) before Logan backhanded them all down!

The Chapter Master makes a fatal mistake in his turn 4, leaving his Wolf Guard to take out the Swooping Hawks, Logan charges into the area terrain to get into close combat with the blind Fire Dragons.

The Grey Hunter squad who was in the farm yard starts making a mad dash towards mid-field whilst the squad of 2 Grey Hunters move to engage the Warp Spiders.

The Wolf Guard hacks apart several Swooping Hawks who then flee off the board saving themselves. The Warp Spiders lose one member to the Grey Hunters but hold their ground.

Then in a moment that swung the game completely the Old Wolf Logan Grimnar, chapter master of the Space Wolves and beloved hero throughout the Imperium of man loses his footing and stumbles over the rocks in the area terrain slowing him down to I1 whilst the Fire Dragons decide now its time to bring their A game beat him unconscious with the butts of their fusion guns. He falls and they claim the Xeno-tech prize.

The Dire Avengers witnessing the defeat of the Wolves hero only fall back 2" (they were still within 6" of the Wolf Guard) they hold on the board with less than an inch to go.
The Fire Dragons reposition themselves and melt the Wolf Guard into nothingness.

The Reapers shoot blanks this turn failing to wound anything.
The Warp Spiders and Grey Hunters all fail to wound each other.

Marine turn 5 sees the squad of Grey Hunters in midfield recover the second piece of technology whilst fire from the Long Fangs kills one of the Dark Reapers (the Reapers had been taking long ranged fire the whole game from the missile and heavy bolter teams and made so many saves).
The Warp Spiders lost in combat and failed their leadership falling back 11" whilst the 2 Grey Hunters consolidated behind the building.

On my turn 6 the Warp Spiders failed leadership again denying me any chance to get within Wades 6" board edge to gain points for the secondary mission objective and they fall back something large ending up near my own board edge instead.

Marines turn 6 saw his Grey Hunter squad made a mad dash back into his deployment zone with the objective in hand to score the 3rd mission objective. The 2 Grey Hunters bravely charge towards my DZ, if the game continues hoping to force their way within 6" of my edge for the secondary mission objective.

The game ends here in a draw both claiming the primary and tertiary mission objectives.

Post game thoughts and opinions.
Really happy with the way the Dark Reapers performed all those heavy bolters facing me would've been ridiculously brutal to my soft aspect warriors and the amount of return fire they took was amazing.

I was also pleased with the Striking Scorpions who won combat after taking a charge from Grey Hunters and then killed a terminator when they were charged by them.

I'm also fairly happy with the way the Shining Spears went breaking the Scorpions out of combat and then putting lots of wounds into the Wolf Guard I couldnt help that Wade rolled really well on the Inv saves.

Once again those fucking fire dragons failed miserably (even if they did beat Logan in CC the fact they missed so many shots the turn earlier wouldve allowed me to have kept my Shining Spears alive). I cannot express how bad I roll with the Dragons, last week for example in a game against Necrons a squad of 8 dragons shot at a squad of destroyers resulting in 7 misses. In one of my previous battle reports 10 dragons inc the Exarch resulted in 3 hits. I really need to show them the back of my hand to teac them a lesson!

Over all it was a really really fun game and for the last half of the game it swayed in the balance at the start of my turn 4 I thought I had it in the bag with all those melta guns, shurikens and lasblasters pointed at Logan, then after they survived and killed my Shining Spears I thought all was lost till Logan died in CC. I think it was really fitting this game ended in a draw.

First attempt at thorns and finalizing Biel-Tan scheme.

So my first real attempt to paint thorns and I'm ambivalent though I guess I could say the same thing about all of my minis.
So this Falcon is a test for my upcoming Fire Prisms.

Oh oh also I've painted all 6 of my Wave Serpents canopies similar to the ones on this falcon. Go me! Now I just need to paint aspect runes on the back hatches and vines around the runes, fix up the gem stones and theyre done... getting there.

1500pts completed!

So I finally finished basing and painting my 1500pt mech army. Theres still a few minor details Id like to do such as shading on the EMLs, gemstones on the Dire Avenger serpents catapults and I want to paint a vine pattern on the back hatches of the serpents with the aspect rune in the middle.
But for now I can at least say its painted and based! Woo!

Blade Storm!!

latest Exarch shots

Howling Banshees

Fire Dragons

They appear too red in the last pic they look a bit more like this next one

Their pimped out ride that always earns me a lot of comments :)

Updates and stuff 6-9-2010

So lets see all the Phoenix Lords bar Baharroth are completed.

Primmed my Falcon white so need to find my tank brush and start base coating it.

All the Dire Avengers have been rebased so they're looking good now just need to touch up their hair and gemstones on the red squad and finally finished them. Also the second DA Exarch is finished just waiting for the base to dry and then I might take a picture.

Doodoodoo....

Vs Orks 2000pts 23-8-2010

This was my first time trying my 2k foot slogging Biel-Tan army against my friend and old rivals Orks. You'll have to excuse the cruddy terrain and unpainted models. As this is my second string army list it's all WIP.

So my list was:
Avatar
10 Fire Dragons - Exarch, Fire Pike, Tank Hunters
10 Striking Scorpions - Exarch, Claw, both powers
10 Banshees - Exarch, Executioner, Acrobatic
10 Dire Avengers, Exarch, PW/SS, Defend
9 Dire Avengers
9 Dire Avengers
9 Dire Avengers
6 Swooping Hawk - Exarch, Sunrifle
6 warp Spiders - Exarch Dual Death Spinners, Withdraw
5 Shining Spears - Exarch, Star Lance, Withdraw
5 Dark Reapers - Exarch, Missile Launcher, Fast Shot

My opponents list
Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
Mad Doc Grotsnik
10 Nobs, eavy armour, 3 power klaws, cybok bodies, painboy
Battle Wagon, Armour Plates, Kannon, Deffrolla
20 Boyz, Cybok bodies, 2 big shootas, Nob, Power Klaw
20 Boyz, Cybok bodies, 2 big shootas, Nob, Power Klaw
20 Boyz, Cybok bodies, 1 big shoota 1 rokkit, Nob, Power Klaw
3 Deffcoptas - Cybok bodies, 3 rokkits
3 Deffcoptas - Cybok bodies, 3 rokkits

Mission - Annihilation
Deployment - Spearhead

I won first turn and took it deploying in the corner with the ruined building trying to make layers out of my squads for protection. The Shining Spears are held in reserve.
My friend deploys as much stuff as close as possible and scouts his deffcoptas.

Top of turn 1

I shuffle my forces around a little trying to get some long ranged shots off. Reapers and Dire Avengers hit the Deffcoptas killing 1 and wounding another but they pass their leadership.
Few pot shots here and there may have killed some orks.

End of my turn 1

Bottom turn 1
Orks do what orks do and run forward.
The battle wagon shoots it cannon and Ghaz puts some shots into the full Dire Avenger squad (the white primed one -_-) and do some wounds
The 3 Deffcoptas manage to shoot and kill a girl or two with their rockets
the original deffcoptas assault my isolated Dire Avenger squad. He wins by a couple of wounds but my boys hold.

Top of turn 2
Shining Spears failed to come in - Kinda needed them to wipe out the 3 deffcoptas.
I shuffle back slightly keeping his force at 17-18"
I brought the Scorpions up a bit so they could rush forward to meet any attackers. I left my flank 'weak' but screened to prevent the nobs getting into the back field.
Banshees fleet up the side towards the deffcoptas.
Reapers shooting kills 2 deffcoptas and puts a wound on the last one but once again my friend passes his leadership test on them.
Avatar climbs over the wall to take a long range shot at the battle wagon (and try and taunt the nobs to go to him) but he falls short by less than an inch.
Unsure whether the girls would be in range for the single deffcopta the Reapers were shooting at I decide to throw them in with the Dire Avengers to try and break them out of the combat, I could then screen my Banshees with the Dire Avenger squad from Grotsniks squad and then counter attack. Great plan but it helps if I win the combat first, right?

Might've been a draw I'm not sure. Either way they got stuck there.

Bottom of Turn 2
My friend moves his battle wagon in front of my Avatar and piles out his nobs and Ghaz. Rolling a 4 on difficult terrain with Grotsniks squad he decides to head to the banshees/Dires knowing he'll fall short of the red gemmed Dire Avenger squad (the one in front of my Dragons). His other boy squad heading towards my avatar whilst the back squad falls further and further behind on his terrain tests.
He calls a Waaagh!
Nobs not taking the bait of my weak flank head to the scorpions
Boy squad reaches the Avatar
Grotsniks squad reaches the Dire Avengers that are tied up in combat with the Deffcopta
The other deffcopta joins the fray attacking the banshees.

Somehow the Avatar won.
The banshees kill one deffcopta, all my Dire Avengers in that combat die. My Banshees hold (thankfully he didnt have the movement to get his boys into the girls I only ended up taking a Ld test at -3).
Scorpions did 1 wound perhaps? Something garbage.

Banshees fight on!

Top of Turn 3
My shining spears arrive - I had planned to use them to 'snipe' Grotsnik knowing how hard orks become when they get FNP though in his pile in move he managed to hide him. So there's not any viable targets so I boost them onto the board behind my main lines so they can move in to assist where need be.
My Warp Spiders jump behind the battle wagon.
Fire Dragons shuffle around so they all have LOS to the nobs.
Hawks and both the red and green gem Dire Avenger squads move around to get LOS to the nobs. The pinning/primed Dire Avengers position to protect the Dragons.

I first fire with one Dire Avenger squad hoping to put a few wounds into his squad (hoping he wouldn't put any on the pain boy so I could 'snipe' with mass melta fire and instant death). I do a couple of wounds nothing dies.
Dragons step up 10 meltas. 6 misses including the exarch. Great! 4 rolls to wound and I roll three 1s. To rub salt into the wound he makes the cover save. I then fire the Reapers (Exarch fast shooting a EML to which he misses both shots...). A wound or two gets scattered throughout the squad. The two remaining Dire Avengers and hawks contribute fire. I may have dropped one maaaaybe two. He's still Fearless from the Waaggh call of Ghaz. 12 Instant Killing shots and in the end he only had to roll 1 cover save. Ffs that was my trump card!

Warp Spiders take out the Battle Wagon at least.

The Avatar kills 2 orks and takes a wound in return.
Spiders jump back out of range of the last boy squad.
Banshees somehow kill 6 orks (wish I threw my Spears into the squad now) they took a pounding but Grots and the Nobs fists kill the last Banshee with 1 last wound getting through.

The Avatar holds back the tide!

Bottom of turn 3
Grots and the wounded deffcopta scoot forward into the next Dire Avenger screen
The nobs split off from Ghaz and circle round the building.
The back boy squad still plods on forward slowly.

Grots and the Copta make short work of the red gemmed Dire Avengers.
The nobs needing a 6 to get over the fence and into my dragons... make it. -_- Somehow the dragons hold though.
Ghaz charges into the pinning Dire Avengers (I had decided not to charge him in the previous round as I was sure I would've lost so he could've just bounced forward with consolidation). The Dire Avengers take heavy losses but hold.

The Avatar with my awesome rolling skills misses 3 attacks (I really hope he gets preferred enemy next edition seriously I'm really happy if I hit twice with the Avatar). He takes another wound so he's left down to two.

Top of Turn 4
If things start going my way I can still pull this off.
I move my shining spears towards Grots, my green gemmed Dire Avengers shuffle back. Thinking I have got this in the bag I move my hawks into position to shoot at the back squad of boys and my Warp Spiders jump forward to start hitting them too.

I guess this is my best round of shooting. Sadly.
Dire Avengers and reapers shoot into Grots squad (fast shooting Krak missiles to avoid FNP and to wound easier). The shining spears also shoot into them the Exarch firing his Star Lance to negate FNP. 24str 4, 8 str 5, 3str 8 (BS5). Killed 5 orks.

At least the Swooping Hawks and Spiders did better they killed 10ish.

I charge in with the Shining Spears. Grots was protected so wasnt able to position for any Instant Death. One shining spear attacked the wounded Deffcopta but he made his inv save. I ended up killing 3 orks. They lost combat but the Exarch lived and withdrew.
The Dire Avenger exarch manages to live by himself but is killed from the Avatars Fearless bubble.
The Avatar managed two wounds which both got saved thanks to the Cyboks. He then took a wound in return and died for a Fearless wound.

Bottom of 4

My lines are completely broken now and this turn is just a clean up for him really. Kinda funny/sad the Shining Spear exarch died to a deffcopta rocket in the back.

Here's the orks doing their victory dance.

Regardless of being tabled on turn 4 I still think the foot slogging aspect list is quite fun to play so I'll stick with it. The only mistakes I felt I made this game was creeping the Scorpions too far forward and in hindsight if I knew I'd roll so well with the Banshees I would've moved my Shining Spears up to join that combat I just didnt see them killing 6 orks without charging or doom. I was a bit surprised he didn't multi assault the nobs into my Avatar and use fearless to bring him down, the last couple of days I've been thinking and anticipating this (still put myself in a position for it...) at least it didnt happen.

Wave Serpent pics

Months back I made a post about wanting to repaint my Wave Serpents and I did that though they still need some touch ups and finishing touches I'm still very pleased with how they've turned out.

Lets hope I can get these damn pictures to work.

So here's the Howling Banshees' Serpent. I need to work on the gems some more and I want to try painting a Banshee (the mythological creature not the Eldar warrior) onto the hull. The guns and canopy need a little work too as does the large rear gem stone but I need to acquire a vallejo brass before I do that.

Here is my Fire Dragon Serpent and once again needs finishing touches onto the canopy and gem stones. The face took I think 4 days and the scales took another 3 or so. Very tedious but I love that face! My freehand is definitely improving!

Here is one of my Dire Avenger serpents. They all use a space theme which I think looks pretty nice. The Shuriken Catapults on this one are just place holders until I get off my arse figure out how to tie it in a bit better with the Dire Avengers whilst keeping it looking nice. Obviously needs work on the canopy too. Ive got an idea in mind for all of them just once again need to get off my arse.
