Warlocks

I am really excited about this project Ive got my 2 locks with singing spears filed down and reposed/pinned just waiting a few hours so I know theyre set before I greenstuff the gaps and make sure theyre really solid. Something has been calling me to use warlocks again and I am so pumped! These guys are looking fantastic cant wait to start painting them. I've also won an auction on ebay and have another lock coming my way.

Updates on side projects.

Pictured above is my slightly converted Avatars of War light Elf mage. I think shes a really pretty model but somewhat a bitch to assemble! I swear neither head was going to fit and the number of gaps that needed filling afterwards was the most I've done on any model. I decided for additional effect to cut the hair off the second head supplied and give the one I used a pony tail which I think looks pretty good.

I got my box of Mantic Spear Elves on Thursday last week and I have to say I really like them IMO they look so much better than the GW Elves I'll be definitely getting another box. Still waiting for the Palace Guard to go in plastic for my Swordmasters.

I had stumbled upon some greens of Mantic making Elven bowmen w/o armour and shields so what I'm thinking of doing is buying a box of these when they become available (if) and also in the mean time buying another box of 20 spear-men and 20 of their currently Elven bowmen with shields. Assembling the unit of spear-men and then using spare bits turn the shield bearing bowmen into Lothern Sea Guard by adding the few spare bows and spears I'll have from the spear men box. The plan is the front row with the exception of the command squad will be armed with spears with two spare bows that have been filed down draped over their backs. The second onwards I'll have some spears thrust into the ground next to the Elf on their base so it looks like when the enemy come within melee range that the bowmen can abandon their bows and the spears are easily accessible. I think it'll look really good. The fluff for the mantic elves says they also drive their shields into the ground before them for additional protection when firing their bows so I'll try and add that to the front row I think.

Onto a new project I've started I've decided to fix up my Eldar Warlocks; they were painted so badly that theyre currently in the brake fluid. Using the new files I bought I was able to remove the 2 singing spears replacing one with a spare Eldrads witchblade and the second has my old Farseers (large) witchblade. Added a few more little conversions with shuriken pistols here and there so hopefully tomorrow morning when I wake up and finish removing the paint I can assemble them back up again and have some unique looking warlocks. I need to remember to buy more superglue too. I hate metal minis.

Updates on my Prisms.

So I've spent all week repainting my prisms, I've nearly finished one and the other is still in early stages.

Here's some pictures next to my Falcon.

I can't decide on whether black thorns or grey... I do love the greens though I think they're beautiful.

And here's the rest that still is in early stages.

Dragons are finished!

All 12 Dragons are finally finished, well minor details like reflective eye lenses but theyre all good enough for the table now.

Now to repaint two prisms. Oh this marks my 1750 list completed too, woo!

Well guess it's not entirely true I do need to paint some of the guns on the Serpents but its good enough for the time being!
